Greenwich Peninsula

The Jetty Greenwich Peninsula

About us

With sweeping river views, The Jetty is a verdant oasis on the Thames that hosts eclectic events and riverside gardening for the community. Our dynamic year-round programme of live music, urban farming, experiential supper clubs, workshop and talks, make it a green hub of creativity like no other.

We realise this is a challenging time for everyone and want to extend our positive thoughts to those who are struggling. It’s great to see our community here at Greenwich Peninsula are already rallying to support one another.

As we continue to understand more about coronavirus (COVID-19) and as advice evolves, we must adapt and respond accordingly. As a result, sadly we’ve taken the decision to postpone all our public events which were due to take place on The Jetty over the coming weeks. If you have registered for one of the events, the event organiser will be in touch to discuss next steps.

While we may not be hosting any public gatherings for the foreseeable future, if you’re enjoying the outside space on the Peninsula, we urge you to play your part and follow official advice on distancing yourself from others in the space. For the latest advice on the Coronavirus (COVID-19) please visit the National Health Service, UK Government, or World Health Organisation website.

We hope to welcome you back to the Peninsula and The Jetty as soon as possible.

The café

The Jetty is now home to Hej Coffee!

Conceived in Sweden and born in Bermondsey, Hej (meaning ‘hello’ and pronounced ‘hey’ ) now brings its authentic neighbourhood coffee shop vibe to The Jetty, serving speciality coffee, plus great food and drinks in a welcoming accessible environment.

With a local roaster in Woolwich and other locations in Elephant and Castle and Somerset House, you can’t get any fresher coffee. Supporting our community and the environment is imperative to Hej and they only use 100% compostable takeaway cups for customers who don’t yet own one of their reusable ‘Keepcups’. They even make their own biochar for your garden or window box from your recycled takeaway cups.

Hej is now open for brunch! You can view the full menu here.

Urban gardening

Right by the river and surrounded by open air, The Jetty is a place for families, friends, and the emerging community at Greenwich Peninsula to connect with nature and each other.

Every week, volunteers can pop to The Jetty to give the place some love and care, grow fruits and tend to the vegetables. All ages, abilities and ambitions are welcome. Come by and muck in.

What's on

The Jetty is a place of eclectic happenings; from riverside yoga, mind-bending talks and live music.

***Please note: The Jetty has taken the decision to postpone all scheduled events with immediate effect. If you have already signed up to one of the events scheduled at The Jetty, the event organiser will be in touch to explain next steps.

To all our friends (whether green thumbed or not) we invite you to join us in our #JettyAtHomeChallenge where we will be bringing nature indoors with weekly challenges incorporating gardening and the healing powers of plants. You can join in via our social media channels.

We will be setting up challenges with things readily available in most homes. This will include planting, cooking, and crafting.

The challenge is open to all ages and abilities.

You don’t need outdoor space to join in.

Much research has been done into the health benefits, both physical and mental, of spending time with plants. Plants are a proven way of connecting with nature and the seasons, a way of acquiring a more balanced rhythm. If you feel your normal life is on hold, take the opportunity to join us in the #JettyAtHomeChallenge.
