Greenwich Peninsula

Thursday Urban Gardening

Right by the river and surrounded by open air, The Jetty is a place for families, friends, and the emerging community at Greenwich Peninsula to connect with nature and each other.

Every week, volunteers can sign up to volunteer at The Jetty and give the place some love and care, grow fruits and tend to the vegetables. All ages, abilities and ambitions are welcome.

Improve your skills and enjoy the therapeutic benefits of growing food & flowers. This is a totally unique venue: 7 polytunnels on a pier in the Thames, where we grow a huge range of plants that will provide novel opportunities for everyone.

Because of the huge covered area, we garden comfortably in all weathers. However, it can get very hot so please bring a hat, suncream and water.

Safety is our top priority. To keep everyone safe, there will be a maximum of 5 volunteer places per day, with social distancing measures followed at all times. We kindly ask all volunteers to bring their own gloves (washing up gloves will do if you don’t have gardening gloves) as well as masks.

Sign up and muck in.

Every Thursday from 10:30 – 12:00 with structured volunteer sessions led by Urban Growth.
